In this interactive self-reflection session, you'll challenge some of your internalised perceptions about work ethic, throw away the ones not serving you, and use the others to re-write your expectations of yourself to inform a new schedule and belief system that makes work, work for you.

An exciting evening of art and live music programmed by SVA and Magic Teapot. Performances from Echolocation, Flynny O'Flynn, Strizzy Strauss, and Smoke Test. James Chantry will present a rich and visceral, layered, transdisciplinary video installation, exploring links between land, magic, supernatural, folklore, and queerness. Made with additional collaborative material from Leila Houston and performers from DMU. Plus opportunity to buy original arts and crafts by local artists from stalls. Queenie Tea will also be paying a visit, she enjoys a cup of tea and chit-chat with any passer-by!

Family Printing Fun!

Artist led workshop where participants can print a bag or T-shirt using fabric paints and everyday objects, and also a light shade for a battery powered tea-light. (Price includes all materials and tuition to create one bag or t-shirt and one tea light shade). (note: t-shirts may not be available in all sizes). Parents can craft too if they like, just pay for an extra participant. Come suitably dressed for painting, bring an apron!

For this screening, artist Beth Kettel has selected a diverse programme of contemporary and 20th Century artists’ film and video in response to her exhibition The Sound of Somebody Changing Their Mind.

The programme will include Death Day by Soviet avant-garde director Sergei Eisenstein, early films by British director Peter Greenaway, Ed Emshwiller’s pivotal early electronic piece Sunstone and pioneering UK filmmaker John Smith’s Associations.

Contemporary works include the Jerwood/FVU Awards commission Material Witness OR A Liquid Cop by Ed Atkins, alongside recent pieces by Stephen Crowe, Reactor and Trouble Wanted.

This event has been generously supported by Leicester Art Week and made possible by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Landmark Art and Greetings Cards

Artist led workshop where participants can create their own artwork of a local landmark using a simple monoprint technique, & design and stamp a greetings card using a reusable foam block. You will take home your mounted artwork ready to frame and your own reusable foam block so you can print more cards at home. Bring an apron and be prepared to get a little ink on your hands.
